You may feel that you need support or that you have lost your peace, I am here for you.
Welcome to Tracy Ward Counselling, I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist offering a supportive space to work through the challenges you are facing.
I appreciate that stepping out for help may be the first rung on the ladder for you in reaching where you would like to be. Working at a pace that suits you, I will accompany you throughout your therapeutic journey for as long as you need me. I tailor my approach to ensure that the therapy you receive meets your needs and is personal to you. I provide a kind, empathic and curious presence to aid greater understanding and empowerment.
I offer an explorative space, time to pause, reflect and feel more at ease by finding steadier ground. By processing your feelings you can gain insight - we can find out what works for you, incorporating practical coping mechanisms for a more fulfilling future.
Please get in touch, we can also arrange a free 15-minute no obligation phone call to explore your aims for counselling and how I may be able to help you, it is also an ideal space to ask any questions that you may have.

How I work
I mainly use the person-centred approach, this is rooted in humanistic psychology which is based on the view that everyone has the capacity for personal growth and change. I am drawn to the gentle and effective way of helping clients to feel liberated and to gain a sense of agency in their lives.
I will prioritise your needs and values in a non-judgmental space whilst providing useful insights as we go. Working collaboratively, we can create a trustworthy and supportive bond to aid in navigating through your challenges. Together, we can explore your lived experiences, thoughts, emotions and aspirations.
I can help you to understand root causes, develop coping skills, improve self-awareness and build healthier ways to manage.
I offer talking therapy and throughout our work, if helpful to you, I can include other methods of working. For example, somatic work (connection between mind and body), grounding techniques, mindfulness and creative work.
Clients often describe the space I offer as being supportive, calm, validating and sense feelings of being more in control and grounded.
My personal and professional philosophy is that we are all of equal value, no matter where you are at in life, come as you are.
Our work will be centred entirely around you - your experiences, your pace, and your journey. Drawing on the principles of person-centred therapy I will walk alongside you, offering:
Unconditional positive regard: Complete acceptance and support, no matter what you share.
Empathy and understanding: A genuine effort to understand your world from your perspective.
Congruence: A real connection where I am present and authentic with you.
I provide the supportive environment needed to facilitate self-discovery and lasting change.
